Medical Edge Recruitment was founded on April 11, 2014, as a subsidiary of Global Edge Consulting and began with just one employee. On May 2, 2016, Jermaine Reed took the helm of Medical Edge Recruitment. We were licensed only in Texas at the time, but this soon changed. Starting in October of that year, we experienced rapid growth, forging relationships with large multi-state hospital systems and standalone ERs, filling both permanent and local PRN positions, and expanding our healthcare job placement services to a growing number of states.
Expanding Healthcare Recruitment Nationwide
Throughout 2017, Medical Edge Recruitment continued to grow, adding two additional recruiters and a payroll officer in October. We welcomed multiple MSPs to our network that fall, enabling us to place providers in an even wider variety of facilities. By the summer of 2019, we expanded our team of recruiters within the U.S. and hired our first recruiter, Vanessa, in our Guyana office. By fall, our travel nursing model was firmly in place, and we continued to grow until March 2020, when COVID-19 struck. Despite the pandemic, we quickly responded to a state-wide COVID response effort request for proposal [RFP]. During that period, we successfully placed over 700 healthcare providers! The latter half of 2020 saw substantial investment in our HR and Business Development teams, and we relocated from our shared office to a co-working space before moving into our own office in the spring of 2022.
Continuing Success
The year 2022 marked tremendous success for Medical Edge Recruitment as we expanded our sister company, Global Edge Guyana Office, to a team of 40 people, increasing our support and recruiting capabilities. Our local team also continued to grow. By leveraging our teams based in The Woodlands and Georgetown, we expanded our allied and occupational opportunities while staying true to our roots in travel nursing. Medical Edge Recruitment continually adapts to the evolving needs of healthcare and related industries, assuring our readiness and expertise to match medical providers with positions across the nation successfully. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, serving in California, Colorado, and beyond.
