Duties Include:

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will perform therapeutic care, assist patients in meeting their needs, and assist patients performing activities of daily living. Also assist in providing and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
You will demonstrate knowledge of the Nursing Care Plan (NCP) and Treatment Plan as it relates to providing nursing care. Participate in quality control monitoring and peer review as assigned.
Responsible for providing care to patients with mental illness, substance abuse, aggressive behavior and/or suicidal tendencies. Demonstrates knowledge of the therapeutic communication skills, taking under consideration age-specific competencies and cultural diverse patients.
Identify the need for and perform basic care/activities of daily living for patients. You will assist in care for patients with physical problems and provide basic care for patients requiring Special Precautions, Seclusion, 4-Point Restraints, supportive Protective Restraints; follows policy on meeting patients' special needs for hygiene, nutrition, toileting, fluids and ADLs.

Requirements:

Behavioral Health Assistant A- High school diploma or GED; and less than one (1) year of health care related experience.
Behavioral Health Assistant B- Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or GED and one year or more of health care related experience.
Current CPR certification.
Must complete client credentialing requirements prior to start of assignment
Mandatory Five Day orientation with client
